A.M. Woodland Outdoor Design was officially formed in 2017 when two homegrown Lake County businesses became one. The iconic Woodland Landscape Contractors & Nursery
merged with the rapidly growing A.M. Landscape & Design LLC
. This combination has helped strengthen our position in the industry and we look forward to beautifying our community for many years to come!
A.M. Landscape and Design LLC was founded in 2009 by Andy Migacz. He moved back to his hometown of Lake Zurich after graduating from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) and went to work mowing lawns and doing odd jobs to pay his student loans. With Andy working sun-up to sun-down every day, he knew that he needed to make some additions to the team if he wanted to grow. His brother, Dan Migacz, and his friend, Kirk Vander Pas, offered to partner with him and provide some much-needed capital and business expertise. After becoming partners, the business grew exponentially until the day the A.M. Landscape & Design acquired Woodland Landscape Contractors.
Woodland Landscape Contractors & Nursery, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Chuck Whitesell. The company got it’s start in Barrington as Woodchuck’s Landscaping before moving to Mundelein and becoming a nursery in 2005. At it’s peak, Woodland had robust residential and commercial divisions that did impressive projects throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. In 2013, the union commercial division was spun-off to create Woodland Commercial Landscape, Inc. (an unaffiliated company). With a long history in the area and hope for a bright future, the employees at Woodland Landscape Contractors were thrilled to join the youthful team at A.M. Landscape and become one company.
A.M. Woodland Outdoor Design has committed to furthering professionalism in the green industry. To the end, we are actively involved in several trade and professional organizations.
Throughout our history, A.M. Woodland Outdoor Design has been a supporter of numerous important causes and has made sure to help those in need. We are proud to support (both financially and with our time) many different organizations, but we are specifically honored to be involved in the communities in which we live and do business (Lake, Cook, and Kenosha counties).
